LONDONION is an artwork by Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard commissioned by Film and Video Umbrella as part of Merzbank. This generative sound app is based on Kurt Schwitters 1946 poem "London Onion".
The piece is read by comedian Stewart Lee, combined with sounds drawn in real-time from your handset microphone and numerous archive sounds from the London Sound Survey. The App analyses and responds to the live sound input and responds to your immediate surroundings to create a unique performance each time you listen.
LONDONION is compatible with iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPad 2 and iPad 3. It is not compatible with iPhone 3 and iPhone 4.
